More than 800 people attended the historic ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, August 18, 2017, which speakers proclaimed as a game-changing moment for future students of both the University and College.

Ana Lucía Córdova Cazar, a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Business Administration Survey Research and Methodology Program (SRAM) program at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, won a $400 travel grant for her poster presentation at the spring Graduate Research and Creative Activities Poster Session. The UNL Office of Research and Economic Development and Office of Graduate Studies presented the award.

Through an ongoing partnership with the Clifton Foundation and Gallup, James Jr. and Susan Stuart Endowed Dean of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Business Administration Donde Plowman has appointed Dr. Larry J. Countryman Awarded Nielsen Fellow

Ana Lucía Cordova-Cazarm, a Ph.D. student in SRAM, has been chosen to participate in the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  The summer seminar focuses on the roles and responsibilities PFF participants will hold as faculty members in higher education. The format for the seminar will be discussion-based; sessions provide an opportunity for Fellows to meet with senior administrators (e.g., academic dean, a chair of a P & T committee) and faculty at UNL, providing participants a foundation for their fall structured mentoring experiences.

More than four years after graduating from UNL with a master’s degree in SRAM and a minor in market research, I can say without a doubt that the SRAM program was a vital part of my career development and more than adequately prepared me for early successes right out of the gate. While each course was valuable, my favorite parts of the program were the hands-on experiences that gave students the opportunity to bring our coursework to life and see how it is applied in the real world. In particular, my two favorite parts of SRAM were the Internship and the professional seminars (prosems).

Exchange Program-KU Leuven

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has recently renewed the student exchange agreement between UNL’s SRAM graduate program and the Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciences (QASS) graduate program at the KU Leuven in Belgium. Since 2003, the SRAM and QASS programs have been exchanging students in the spring semester.
